Open House at Allamuchy Fire

October 9, 2018 - On Tuesday night at 6pm, Allamuchy Firefighters hosted an open house for the residents of Allamuchy to learn about fire safety and fire prevention.  Over 60 kids attended the open house this year, bringing their parents, grandparents, and pets.  Hot dogs and cider were provided for everyone to enjoy while touring the fire apparatus, and learning fire safety.

Live demonstrations were given by the fire department, which included a live extrication, an oven/stove fire, and a bedroom/house fire simulator.  Parents and children learned the proper techniques of getting out of their house in the event of a fire, in addition to, how to safely extinguish a grease fire on top of the stove, as well as a fire inside the oven.
