First Due Engine Crew Knocks Working Fire

February 25th, 2023
At 14:30 hours on Saturday, February 25th, Allamuchy Fire was dispatched to 9 Ryan Road in Independence Township for the working structure fire.
Chief 73 arrived on scene on the initial dispatch for Independence, confirming a working fire and requested his first box alarm, along with a Tanker Task Force.
Part of 73's box requested Allamuchy FD as a full response. Chief 91 arrived on location and found active fire from the front door/kitchen area to the residence. Both chiefs confirmed no one was inside the residence.
Engine 91-61 went responding within minutes of being dispatched. Crews arrived on scene first due and dropped 1000 feet of 5 inch supply line at the end of the driveway for incoming tankers. Allamuchy was followed into the scene by engines and manpower from 78 Fire and 73 Fire. Engine 91-61’s crew stretched an attack line and back up line to the front door, extinguishing the bulk of the fire. 78 fire stretched an attack line to the second floor to extinguish fire that advanced up an interior stair way, while additional manpower checked the attic and basements for further extensions. Roof teams were also assigned to begin vertical ventilation.
Shortly after Engine 91-61 went responding, Tanker 91-71 and Utility 91-84 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews from 91-84 went to work assisting interior crews with extinguishing the fire. Crews from 91-71 worked along side water operations and shuttled water from the fill site to the scene.
The fire was quickly knocked and crews remained on location till approximately 17:45 completing overhaul and assisting with WCFM scene investigation.
